Nile H. Russell, a premier GUEST Modern Dance Faculty Member of the d2b CONSERVATORY,  is originally from Baltimore, MD. He received a B.A. in dance from Connecticut College, where he was fortunate enough to have the guidance of wonderful dancers and teachers such as Dan Wagoner, Lan Lan Wang, Jeff Rebudal, Robyne Watkin, David Dorfman, Eddie Taketa, and Jeremy Nelson. In 2002, Nile traveled to India to study temple and architecture studies and Bharatanatyam dance. He moved to New York in 2004, where he danced with Silver-Brown Dance, LeeSaar The Company, Luis Lara Malvacias, Stefanie Nelson Dance Group, Naganuma Dance, and co-founded CaN Dance. In 2009, Nile joined Pilobolus Dance Theater as a dancer and later became Dance Captain of the main touring company. Through Pilobolus, he has performed all over the world, taught nationwide and on three continents, and has been lucky to experience a wide range of people and cultures. Nile is currently the Education Director of the American Dance Festival in North Carolina.
