Classes

There are many classes for adults where no experience is needed.  These classes are all about learning that dance is a fun and effective way to get FIT.  Some options include: Cardio Dance Funk, Dancer’s Stretch, CIZE, GROOV3, Ballet 101, Dancer’s Strength, Basic Ballet, Simply Tap, and PREVENGE.   For the more seasoned dancer, intermediate/advanced classes are offered several times during the week in Jazz, Tap, Modern, Ballet, Contemporary, Hip Hop and STAGE performance.  Master Dance Workshops occur several times a year in various genres so keep a look out!  Regardless of your experience or interest in dance – enjoy a class and experience the dance2b motto which is “learn – move – live”.

This adult dance class provides you with an amazing cardio workout from the non-stop movement with upbeat music and fun hip hop moves. No previous Club or dance experience required! Come learn with Rico or Henry both amazing entertainers and choreographers who have danced with some of the legends in the dance industry…Michael Jackson, Usher, Beyonce, Missy Elliott, Lauren Hill …just to name a few.  Next time you are out, your friends will wonder where you got those new great new dance moves and sleek physique! Dance is the best exercise for all ages. Make your routine fun with Hip Hop Groove. Bring water and athletic shoes you are comfortable in!

“Cardio Dance Funk (Previously U-Jam Fitness taught by Ashley and her years of experience teaching various  hip-hop dance fitness workout will have you moving and grooving with easy to learn steps and high energy music for dancing!  Not only will this class get your heart rate up, your body moving, and make you work up a sweat in no time — you will be learning some fierce choreographed moves that should be done on the dance floor!  Each new class series will be a different dance experience depending on what’s current and hot. Come learn, move and sweat on Mondays at 5:30pm.

INSTRUCTOR: Phannie

“Need to work on your dance technique ? Try ballet as a cross training strategy to enhance your athletic performance in any sport and all dance genres! Ballet training provides the body with the force needed to make quick directional changes. It increases your body control, speed and flexibility. Attending ballet classes regularly will give you the results in performance you are looking for. Taught by Phannie Haver who is trained in the Russian Vaganove Ballet Method knows first hand how intense ballet moves are on the body. Come learn, move and live the World of Ballet Technique with her on Mondays at 5:30pm..

Come learn how to explore contemporary dance and how this beautiful fusion of modern, jazz and ballet creates movement that is organic, interpretative and fluid. Phannie’s style is pedestrian and creative that she will turn you into a lovely mover at the end of this beginner class.

A Hip Hop Style class inspired by your favorite youtube dances from LA to NY to Tokyo! Learn all the trending hip hops moves and swagger you need to be in one of those videos! We regularly take videos in class, so be prepared to become a Youtube dancer yourself! /raw]

PREVENGE Fitness workout, incorporating ballet and fitness elements in ways that realign the body to strengthen itself with the use of Therabands.  Give your body the conditioning it deserves to support all athletic movement. Dedicate an hour to yourself to the necessary strengthening exercises to maximize endurance and prevent joint injuries. Set to relaxing music your mind and body will leave feeling restored and ready for the rigorous schedule or athletic requirements of your sport. This class is for all levels so come enjoy! 

INSTRUCTOR: Henry

Lights, Camera……Jazz! Class consists of dancer’s strength and stretch warm-up for the stage, charismatic across-the-floor combos and a jazzy performance level piece of choreography.  Henry has been in many on-stage and on-camera productions so come learn, move,  and live the “STAGE” with him each Monday night!

INSTRUCTOR: PI

Let your hair down and unleash your wild side in this class! With special lighting each class you will learn dances that  are a little more risqué and sultry so your alter ego gets to take center stage!  You can do bare-foot, jazz shoes, ballet shoes, foot undies, or even flat foot boots.

INSTRUCTOR: Alex

This class combines the grace, elegance, and fundamental technique of ballet with artistic expression through organic movement of the body. Each class will give beginners a chance to explore lyrical dance with an active stretch, followed by basic across the floor work that prepares the class for the technical elements that will be used later in the class, and ends with a combo that allows each dancer to beautifully move to heartfelt music. Come find a release every Tuesday morning at 11:00.

INSTRUCTOR: Alex

This amazing fit class requires no experience. Stretch, move, tone and condition every muscle you have. Stretching has a number of benefits for adult dancers and athletes. Stretching helps keep muscles long and supple, while exercise gives them additional strength. This class will teach how stretching properly before and after a dance workout helps to prevent injury, by making the muscles more pliable. In addition, participants will work on improving posture, increasing flexibility and range of motion and strengthening the muscles. Dedicate an hour to yourself to stretch away the stress of the day! We will have a mat waiting for you!  Don’t miss this opportunity to infuse your body with a beneficial practice that will enhance your learning and moving at all the classes offered at dance2b.

INSTRUCTOR: Claire

Come learn the abc’s and do-re-mi’s of tap dance! Whether tap is a new adventure for you or it’s been a while since you’ve slipped on your old tap shoes, it’s never to late to start. This class includes basic steps, technique, and vocabulary, then we’ll put it all together in fun combinations! It is offered the every Tuesday from 5:30-6:30pm. Once you feel comfortable with the basics, you can try the Intermediate/Advanced Tap Performance class that is happens afterwards at 6:30pm. 

INSTRUCTOR: Claire

This class is for the more experienced tap dancer who has all the basics down and is looking to expand their repertoire and improve technique. Learn the choreography performed by the great tap dancers in history as well as Claire’s original choreography.  From classic tap repertoire, to Rhythm, Broadway or contemporary Hoofing, you’ll get a taste of every style throughout tap history!  

INSTRUCTOR: Kady

This class is essential for anyone looking to improve their technique and performance dance skills.  All dancers are welcome.  This intermediate to advance level class will take you to the next level with continued attendance. Kady has done the LA circuit and performed with the Denver Nuggets so come take her class to practice your craft and be prepared for that next audition OR just come for a great dance class!  For the 1 hour and 15 minute class, you will receive an extensive warm-up, time to work on those leaps and turns as well as a creative piece of industry choreography.  Each week will be a different experience to keep on your toes!  Kady’s stye will motivate you and provide access to quality professional instruction in a fun and welcoming environment.  No doubt you’ll be amazed at the release from performing lyrical jazz, contemporary or jazz fusion each week.!

GROOV3 is a one hour, high-energy, dance-til-you-drop cardio funk class with a mission to inspire change and build communities through the power of dance. Simple combinations accommodate all fitness levels, featuring the hottest mixes.

Looking for some fun and jazz like you are dancing on stage for the first time or it has been awhile? Come check the elegant class of Broadway Style each Wednesday at 12 noon to get a little taste of Broadway. Class covers the basics of a dancer’s warm-up, across the floor combinations and a piece of showy choreography. This class is also great training for actors and singers who “move well” and would like to move better!/raw]

Professional NBA and NFL dancers are known for their high-energy routines and upbeat personalities. Fans feel it during all the professional games and so can you when you attend Allie’s class on Wednesday night. Get ready to kick, turn, clap, snap, stomp and move like you are on the center court. Being a previous member of professional NBA Dance team for two years, Allie has the energy and expertise to keep you moving through a whole routine that will leave you feeling fabulous and ready to perform at any venue! This class is that fun entertainment pop jazz that fuses performance technical dance moves with sassy choreography. No doubt you’ll be amazed at the confidence it naturally brings once you nail that routine!

This class is 1 hour treat for the non-dancer or the passionate dancer. No experience is necessary to tone, strengthen, and sculpt your body using classical ballet exercises at the barre and on the floor. Welcome to the world of ballet – the purest fitness class you will experience. Regular ballet transforms the body – you begin to stand taller, your derriere lifts, arms acquire definition. thighs thin out, and abs flatten. Ballerinas do not train at the gym….Come find out how to achieve a long lean dancer physique. This conditioning class starts with a long warm up for 20 minutes set to great inspiring and upbeat music to get you rev’d up for the workout. It continues with effective barre exercises and a floor series. Ending with a cool down and stretch to lengthen the muscles after the powerhouse workout of ballet!

Imagine a circuit class that provides you with the beauty of dance training in technique and flexibility. Give your body the necessary conditioning it deserves weekly! Proper and regular conditioning has a number of benefits for dancers and athletes. This class will teach how targeted exercises to specific areas of the body will prevent injury and will also focus on improving posture, increasing flexibility and range of motion. It will also aim at increasing the core body strength essential for a dancer and athletes.

Contemporary dance is gaining in popularity, It is viewed as one of the most beautiful dance styles on So You Think You Can Dance. This is your chance to explore what makes this dance style so beautiful and popular. Taught by Ballet Ariel and Apex Dance Company member Alfred Smith, this class offers the opportunity to work on traditional clean lines, traveling and direction changes while incorporating turns and jumps in the choreography during this one hour and 15 minute class. You will start with a long necessary warm-up, gracefully engage the floor, elevate to the skies while athletically incorporating a multitude of dance “genres” for the ultimate contemporary dance experience.

This class is specially catered to ballet newbies. During the hour we will cover the foot and arm positions, proper alignment, full body stretches, the fundamental barre exercises, and the basic center and across the floor steps that all of ballet technique derives from. It is a fun, relaxed environment and moves at a slower pace than the more advanced classes. This class is perfect for beginners looking to gain a basic knowledge of ballet steps and terminology.

This ballet class is constructed with all levels in mind. Come find your inner ballet dancer!  It starts with a continuous barre that warms up the body, as well as trains the muscles for center work. A relaxing, deep stretch follows. Then comes center and across the floor combinations, which are modified for every student’s level. Enjoy the discovery of how much you remember if you took ballet as a child.  Its your time to allow Ballet become a part of your body language – the most purest form of dance. You never lost the movement, in fact, your muscles have the memory to find that strength, flexibility, extension and grace.  If you never took ballet and it appeals to you, then come take class to find ballet. You will lean out, carry yourself with a lighter step and stress will melt away. Redefine your sense of self. Be a ballerina for 1 hour a week!

AbunDANCE Yoga Flow’s purpose is to provide a space for you to find your personal presence, release any casts that are holding you in (physical, mentally, and spiritually), and to harness abunDANCE in your life!   INSTRUCTOR: Nile

A contemporary modern movement class geared towards intermediate-advanced dancers. Warm up will involve floor work, articulation, and balance. Then an exploration of phrase work and improvisation that will help improve a dancer’s mental and muscle memory. Join Nile who recently relocated to Denver after 5 years with the Pilobolus Dance Theater as a dancer and later became Dance Captain of the main touring company. Through Pilobolus, he has performed all over the world, taught nationwide and on three continents, and has been lucky to experience a wide range of people and cultures. Nile is very happy to be living in Denver and hopes to only add to the amazing dance and arts culture of Colorado..
